02/24/05 - Lexi is growing!
Her weigh in's at Transplant Clinic are
showing that she is growing...just not as fast as the pros want, but she
is growing, 7lb 1oz today
She is holding her feeds down so much
better these days |
She is taking bigger volumes of food each
day |
The number of calories per kilo per day is
still only about 85% of what the pros thinks she needs...hopefully
she will continue to improve and catch up |
1 Red Flag - Tuesday a few early heart beats
showed up on EKG and ECHO
Can't remember the technical term, but she
is getting an early heart beat every now and then, say one every 20
or so? |
This can be an early sign of
rejection |
Thursday EKG and ECHO looked better |
We are on alert to look for other signs of
rejection, she has not shown any, and the early beats were less on
Thursday |
Other then being on 'alert', there is not
too much concern at this time |
Early beats every now and then may just be
normal for Lexi's new heart |
02/20/05 - Lexi is doing real good - no more
feeding tube or oxygen
Once again, we would like to say a heart felt
thank you to everyone that has and continues to pray for Lexi, for the
support you all have given us, for your time and all the wonderful
gifts. Thank you so very much |
Notice in the latest pictures, about 02/14 or
so, the oxygen came off and she started to take full bottles by herself
No Need to 'dump' food down her tube |
Bummer part of this is, that now Leah is
getting up to bottle feed her in the middle of the night; while Phil
used to just dump the 3am feed in the tube |
Little Princess Lexi seems more and more
normal every day, starting to gain some weight, but she has a long ways
to go |
She is on only 4 meds now - 2 are the
anti-rejection |
MaMaw came out to visit Lexi and help out
while Phil slipped out of town, THANKS!!!! (you can see her in some of
the 02/19 pictures |
02/16/05 - All is well, if she would just
eat more...
Lexi is pretty much off all oxygen, the docs
want to keep it on at night |
She is eating better, but we still have to
dump some food down the tube |
She is gaining weight, but it seems the
professionals want her to gain it just a little bit faster |
Btw, she is lookin' cute!!!! |
02/12/05 - Going good, no setbacks, and Lexi
had a couple of Media Appearances Friday
We added all the pictures from Lexi's busy
week, there are 3 *NEW* picture links in the link list to the left |
Lexi was on Channel 4 and we told her story on
Alice 105.9's

Radiothon |
We added a section (and link above) for anyone
wanting to keep up with Lexi's "O Sister" Macenzie -
try to keep it up to date, she is doing better - the prayers work |
02/10/05 - Still going well, we'll be on
KALC 105.9 Friday about 11am with Lexi
Nothing new to report, Lexi is staying well,
she may have a slight cold thanks to Luke and and her Dad |
Still on oxygen and has feeding tube, we had
hoped to remove oxygen but her pulmonary pressures are still a bit high
without it |
On Tuesday, Lexi went to the Get Acquainted
Breakfast at the
Donor Awareness Console, everyone got to meet her, it was her first
time out and about
Anyone interested in donor awareness
should consider going to a 'GAB' |
We'll try to get recent pics up Friday
afternoon |

Update*****
Doing better, prayers working for her |
She was on an ECHMO machine (heart & lung
bypass), she is now off of it and her chest has been closed up |
02/07/05 - Our precious little girl with her
special gift is still doing well and growing stronger
Lexi is now 7 lbs!!!! |
She is still on a whiff of oxygen, can't wait
to get rid of that bottle |
One less med - one or two more may go in a
week or so |
Her bottle feedings are getting better, the
professionals increased her calorie/oz so she will get higher quality
feedings |
She gets 2 ECHO's each week, so far so
good |
*****SPECIAL
NOTE*****
We have some special friends, we have
referred to them as family of 'O Baby #2' that could use some extra
prayers |

received her precious gift of life today, her new heart |
MacKenzie
is very sick and is not doing real well after her surgery, everyone
is concerned for her, we ask that anyone who has prayed for Lexi to
please please say a prayer or two or three for
MacKenzie |

She has been spitting up a but last couple of
days |

of oxygen and a large bag of drugs |
She did loose about an ounce of weight since
